One-time setup needed
The editor is prepared, but live publishing is not connected yet. Uploading a folder to Netlify alone does not activate the dashboard.
Connect your publishing account
- Create a GitHub account and a private repository for this complete website project, using the
mainbranch. - Connect that repository to a Netlify project. The included settings build and publish the website automatically.
- In Netlify’s environment variables, add
CMS_REPOSITORYwith yourGitHub-name/repository-name, then rebuild. - Configure GitHub login in Netlify’s OAuth settings. Keep the client secret in Netlify; never paste it into the website files.
- Return to this page on your live site and sign in with the GitHub account that owns the repository.
